SSK Mandal’s Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar College is established in October 2001 with the gracious hands of late. Vitthaldada Dalnar, well-known and hard working personality in the area. The college was started with the objectives to provide education to economically and socially backward students. To uplift from their down-trodden situation. The college staff began to create awareness about importance of higher education among the people of this area.

With the establishment of the college from this area the problem of facility of higher education was solved. People in this area are benefited by this college in many ways. At present the college offers B.A. , B.com. , B.A. Rural management and three COC. There is wide academic flexibility provided the students with 18 optional subjects in Arts faculty and CBCS pattern from 2015-2016 academic year.

During the past few years the college has performed very well in academic and social activities. All the teachers are actively participated in research activity. 18 minor research projects are completed by the faculty in the college, funded by the Parent University and UGC, New Delhi. Many books, articles, research papers are published by the faculty.

The college is attached with society closely. People from various sections of the society participate and contribute in various activities organized by the college so social and extension activities are the strength of the college.

Use of ICT in teaching learning process in this rural area is one of the effective tools for effective outcome. The college is assisted by UGC under various schemes to boost the various facilities and infrastructure in the campus. A language laboratory, computer laboratory and gym have been set up in the college with the financial assistance of UGC. These are used to enhance the skills of students.
