Government First Grade College, Puttur

Govt first grade college Puttur was established in the academic year 2007-08 by the order of the Govt of Karnataka. The College started functioning in the old building of Zilla Panchayat higher Primary School Nellikatte, near the K.S.R.T.C. bus stand, Puttur under the leadership of Sri. Ganapathi Bhat Kulamarva, the founder Principal of the college. Initially the college offered B.A. and B.B.M courses. In 2010-11 B.Com course has been introduced to meet the needs of the students of commerce education.

With the efforts of the college development committee the college got the land in Jidekkal ,Chikkamudnoor village. During the year 2010-11 the construction of the new own building has been started and completed building has been handed over to the department in March 2012. From June 2012 the college functions here in the new building. College is offering credit based Semester scheme three year degree programe. Courses offered are B.A, B.B.M, and B.COM with the following subjects. Courses Offered : Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Management.
