Mugutrao Sahebrao Kakade College, Someshwarnagar, Dist – Pune, Maharashtra was established in June 1972 by Late Shri. Mugutrao Sahebrao Kakade, who was one of the pioneers of Cooperative Sugar Industry Movement in Maharashtra. The College is situated in the rural area and provides higher education to the youth, who belong to the poor farming community and labourer’s families and who are deprived of higher education due to financial constraints. It is a grant-in-aid co-education institution permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The college conducts various programmes under three faculties i.e. Art, Commerce and Science at UG / PG level.

The Faculty of Arts involves the Deportments of Marathi, Hindi, English, History, Political sciences, Economics, Defence and Strategse Studies and Geography. The Faculty of Commerce involves the departments of Marketing, Banking and Finance, Advanced Accountancy, Business Regulatory Framework, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Communication and Computer Application. In addition the College conducts the undergraduate degree course in Science faculty. The institution offers four Post Graduate Programmes in Marathi, Hindi, History and Commerce. The college is Reaccreditated with ‘B++’ Grade from NAAC Banglore.
