About Us

The Moreh College was established during the academic session 1992-1993 to cater to the higher educational needs of the people of the international border town of Moreh and the surrounding remote villages within the Chandel district of Manipur in the hills. The College is at present a Government Aided College, managed by the Moreh College Governing Body.

According to the census of india 1991, the Chandel District of Manipur had a total population of 71,014 of which 85.52% belonged to the Scheduled tribes and 0.33% Scheduled Castes.

Moreh College is situated at Chikim Village, Tengnoupal District, Manipur. It was established in the year 1992 with an aim to cater to the needs of higher education of the people of the International border town in particular and of the district in general. The college is located at a distance of 110 km from Imphal, the capital city of Manipur along the Asian Highway No. 1 amidst charming natural beauty the college is permanently affiliated with Manipur University and received central assistance under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the University Grants Commission since 2010. The college at one time a Government aided college became a full-fledged Government college on 21st August 2019.
