The College was started by the Government of Karnataka in the year 1983 to cater the needs of higher Education for Malnad region of western ghats . The name Sakaleshpur evolved from Sakala-Aishwarya-pura. Which means a place with complete wealth and prosparity. The college was inaugurated by the then MLA Sri. J.D. Somappa with the vision of creating the values of Higher Education in the remote Malnad Area. The College is Situated in the midst of beautiful hills and Mountain ranges with plantation of coffee cardmom, pepper, aracanut etc.
Courses Offered : Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts.
