ECA’s mandate to promote the economic and social development of its member States and the achievement of the 2030 and 2063 development agendas in Africa is centred on the Commission’s three core functions, namely: Convening Function, Think Tank Function, and Operational Function
ECA is ensuring the Co-convening function of Task Force 2 (Knowledge Management) of the Africa Regional Collaborative Platform (RCP) and implementing its flagship initiatives, including the development of the UN Africa Knowledge Management Hub (AKMH) and related tools: Regional Expertise Database and Community of Practice, to support the work of the Opportunity and Issues-Based Coalitions (OIBCs), the UN reform and the achievement of the SDGs in Africa.
ECA Journal For African Transformation : The Journal of African Transformation is a bi-annual inter-disciplinary and peer-reviewed scholarly periodical published by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The Journal is committed to publishing very high quality and original research that makes cutting-edge advances on African development issues. It seeks to publish scholarly empirical and theoretical research articles that contribute to Africa’s development thinking, policy and practice.
