Dulwich College

About Us

Welcome to Dulwich College, a happy and flourishing community with outstanding academic results, superb pastoral care and a wonderful array of co-curricular opportunities with stunning creative arts and sports, over 80 clubs and societies and more than 150 accomplished visiting speakers each year.

Inspirational teaching and learning : Our distinctive ethos blends the scholastic excellence of independent education with the excitement of innovation. Dulwich’s teachers are truly inspirational; each has a depth of knowledge for their subject which they enthusiastically share, leading to adventurous learning in the classrooms, laboratories, studios, music rooms, and in the sports halls and on the playing fields.

Alleynians : No two Alleynians (the name of Dulwich College pupils) are alike, but they all share an inquisitiveness about the world, and with our small class sizes and skilled teachers, we take great pleasure in nurturing their intellectual and social development. Alleynians are fun, unpretentious and considerate, and we are very proud of them and their achievements.

Our values : Our outlook is collaborative and we have an appreciation of how we all benefit from living and growing in a diverse and inclusive society. And that is why our community enjoys our social mix, breadth of talents, character and backgrounds, and we seek to encourage curiosity and creativity, compassion and open-mindedness, and resilience and integrity.

At the heart of our Founder’s mission is philanthropy and this academic year we awarded 214 means-tested Dulwich College bursaries to boys and their families. The achievements of alumni who received, and pupils who are currently in receipt of, financial assistance is truly inspirational.

Best of both : We are a co-educational school at DUCKS, and then from Year 3 to Year 13 a boys-only environment with a multitude of opportunities in and beyond the classroom for pupils to learn, collaborate in co-curricular activities and socialise with girls from our partner schools. It really is the best of both worlds.

Future careers : Dulwich seeks to develop pupils who will make a positive difference in whatever area they choose to explore after higher education or a specialist apprenticeship. We are proud of our pupils who go on to be successful engineers, doctors, lawyers, actors, musicians, artists, sportsmen, writers, and will also develop careers engaging in entrepreneurial, technological, cybernetic and innovative enterprises. A sense of service and of “giving something back” to society motivates many who become influential community and service leaders.
