We will always stay true to our roots as a community-owned organisation. Today, we continue to evolve as a modern, safe, and welcoming place for hundreds of residents and dozens of experienced staff. As the needs of our community change, so do we, but our values will always remain constant. Clarence Village began in the late 1960’s when a young Anglican minister suggested Grafton City Council should provide suitable housing for the elderly. Several community groups pooled their resources to answer the call and Clarence Village built its first independent living units in the 1970s. Today Clarence Village has around 100 independent living units across Grafton.
