C.B.Khedgi Basaveshwar Science, Raja Vijaysinh Commerce and Raja Jaysinh Arts College

Taking into account the need and importance of spreading education and making higher education accessible to the rural population, Akkalkot Education Society established this multi stream college on 15th June,1970. Since its inception the institution aims at providing quality education and developing inherent talent of rural students, and thus make them eligible to cope with the global competition. Along with B.A., B.Sc., & B.Com. courses, the college offers M.A.in Kannada and B.C.A. course.

Being a local institute without any political patronage, it faced many adversities and financial crises in the initial stage. Some local benefactors and institutions came forward with their generous help for its survival. It is worth mentioning that late Shri.Channbasappa Khedgi, the founder Vice President of the Education Society, provided financial support. Her highness late Shrimant Mrudularaje Bhosale, then president of Akkalkot Education Soceity, donated 12 acres of land adjoining the New Palace Compound on which the Institution has been developing a well equipped educational complex. Keeping in view the need of students from this drought prone area, C.B.Khedgi Charitable Trust helps the needy and deserving students in form of text-books, note books, uniform, science journals, education kits, college fees etc.
