Aleda and Bill Posladek founded A.B. May when they purchased May Furnace Company in 1959. They renamed it A.B. May (“A” for Aleda and “B” for Bill) and set out to offer Kansas City exceptional home services with a few employees and four trucks. The first ten years saw many changes. We moved three times, starting in a modest building at 43rd and Woodland, growing into a former Waldo Post Office building, and eventually building in Leawood near I-435 and State Line, where we operated for 42 years.
Along with location changes, we have also changed our services over the years. We have expanded to offer Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Drains, Electrical, and Appliance repair services. A major development for us came in the mid-1970s when we pioneered one of the first homeowner warranties in the industry. Today, we give thousands of Kansas City homeowners a plan to simplify home service through our Home Warranties and Service Plans.
