About Us

The Canterbury Kitchen was born on October 1st, 2019 but our history runs long before this date. Sumner and Louis Resnick bought Cousins Catering from Leon Holloway who has been operating out of The Carnegie Library in Americus, Georgia for 45 years! Formally trained at Le Cordon Bleu, Louis advanced his career through the cruise industry, restaurant industry, and eventually the luxury hotels industry. He and Sumner met while both were working at The Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island. Sumner has a degree in business and sought to advance her career through the managerial training that Marriott had to offer. After transferring to The St. Regis Aspen Resort, the Resnicks married at Hickory Grove Estate in Lee County, where they met Leon.

“Because no one in South Georgia can really get married without some of Leon’s shrimp and grits,” This is really how it all started. Louis and Sumner hired Leon of Cousins Catering to cater their Leesburg wedding in 2018. A quiet comment in passing if he was ever interested in selling the business to let them know. Well one thing lead to another and a year later Cousins Catering became The Canterbury Kitchen. To everyone’s delight we are still and always will be serving up “Leon’s Shrimp n’ Grits!”
