King Abhinandan started the Yagna to become Trilokadhish. Frightened by this, Indra created the demon Vighnasura to disrupt the yajna and asked him to disrupt the yajna. He went a step further and started disrupting all the yagnas. Due to this, sages requested Ganapati to settle Vighnasura. After defeating Ganapati, Vighnasura surrendered to Ganapati. Vighnasura requested Ganapati that before taking your name, the devotees should take my name and you should live here. Ganapati accepted this request of Vighnasura and he started living in this place under the name of Vighnahara.

Next to the temple of Vighnahara is a hall 20 feet long and the inner gabhara is 10 feet by 10 feet. The temple has a strong protective wall. The east-facing idol here has diamonds on its forehead and rubies in its eyes and navel.
