About Us

Bhai Ghanaiya Ji is the true model of Team Nishkam. The founders of Nishkam, its team members, volunteers, and staff function as caretakers of public money and Daswandh of the Sangat. With constant guidance and support, the Nishkam team comprises young and old medical doctors, educationists, chartered accountants, technocrats, IT professionals, serving and retired bureaucrats, self-employed professionals, and businessmen. The team is determined to continue its pursuit of selfless Sewa by continuing existing projects and embarking on new ones.

After setting up, with aid from “Indian Express Relief Fund” and “Ajit Relief Fund” and philanthropic individuals/Trusts, Nishkam provided vocational assistance to about 300 families of Sultanpuri, Mangolpuri, Uttam Nagar, honor, and other areas of Delhi. From November 1984 to the end of February 1985, Nishkam managed to reconstruct houses in Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri to make them livable for their occupants.

In March 1985, the Government started allotting small flats to widow sisters of different areas of Delhi. The policy of allotment was that the old houses of the widow sisters will be taken over by the Government and disposed off and the amount recovered will be adjusted against the cost of new flats allotted to them. Nishkam immediately shifted its focus on Tilak Vihar and is still present there even after the passage of 35 years.
