Mianzi is a purpose-led home décor and furnishing brand that is working to revolutionize and redefine sustainability through reimagining designs with our planet in mind. All our designs are hand-engineered and are made by our family of heritage artisans from small villages of India.

A polygamy of craftsmanship, technology and sustainability, each product carries untold stories of a material that has deep roots in the history of India; of bamboo; of people who hold generational passion for the craft and have almost lost it; of a product that has empowered hundreds of families – now bringing a meaning, a connection to your home.

The inspiration for Mianzi began in a rickshaw repair shop, where a young child observed the beauty of simplicity in design and the efficiency of simple solutions. As a kid the founder often visited his grandfather’s rickshaw repair shop with his father. While helping him with small chores he used to observe the simplicity of the design of a cycle rickshaw and the bicycle in amazement. The way the repairs and restoration were made with on spot unique solutions mostly by hand inspired him and made him wonder about the efficiency of simple ways. Bamboo as a material has been a fillip in his design philosophy & is reflected as a polygamy between sustainability, contemporary aesthetics, and cultural heritage.

MIANZI is working in association with Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission (MPSBM). Working under the National Bamboo Mission (NBM), MPSBM encourages and boosts the growth of quality bamboo, bringing in skilled artisans from all across the state and training them to promote competent designs that could capture national and international markets by making available advanced tools and equipment. MPSBM further enables MSME’s to create value by providing them with manufacturing resources and insights into recent trends. Working on international standards, MPSBM is propelling bamboo to become the perfect raw material – which is sustainable and is being industrialized, while promoting and nurturing all its subsidiaries and underlings to elevate.
