About Us

Since 1997, we have provided permanent home ownership solutions to hardworking, deserving families in Simcoe County. Our families who benefit from a Habitat Home have experienced better health, financial security and their children receive better grades in school. Our local economy benefits from tax dollars and local spending too.

Habitat for Humanity Huronia Affiliate is located in Barrie and serves the following areas: Barrie, Essa, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Springwater, Oro-Medonte, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview, and The Blue Mountains. Habitat Huronia maintains three Habitat ReStores in Barrie, Collingwood, and Alliston.

Pride & Responsibility : Habitat for Humanity Huronia seeks to provide the pride and responsibility of home ownership to local families in need of affordable housing, and to work towards eliminating substandard housing one house at a time. The homes are sold to our Habitat homeowners.

Building Partnerships : We work by organizing volunteers and obtaining donations of money and materials so that we can build houses in partnership with people in need of simple, decent, and affordable homes.

Promoting Community Involvement : Habitat families volunteer 500 hours towards the build, ReStore and events. Volunteers of all abilities, skills and needs can volunteer on the build, the ReStore, events, office and committees.

Benefiting Future Families : The mortgage monies are then contributed back into our working funds, which are used to build more houses with more families. Most donors appreciate knowing that their funds will recycle to benefit more than one family.
